HOW I TESTED NEGATIVE IN 12 DAYS OF COVID-19 INFECTION

The disease CORONA (COVID -19) is wide spread now in India, and has crossed nearly 32.3 lakhs cases as of today with more than 7.07 lakhs  active cases (21.87%), and approximately 60000 death (1.84%), with the recovery of 24.67 lakhs (76.30%) cases AS ON 26th August 2020.

So in this wide spreading scenario, we need to know how to identify if we have got contacted or having any symptoms of COVID-19, I will also explain how I managed my health during the quarantine and tested negative on 12th day of COVID.

Here I will be sharing my experience with COVID-19, starting from my contact information, how did I come in contact with infected person and what precautions I have taken further as a responsible citizen to break the chain, and prevent the spread in society.

Arogya Setu app mandatory for government, private sector employees

On 6th August 2020, I came in contact of family members who tested positive for COVID later. Just staying in contact for 2 hrs without mask, on the next morning, I could feel a slight heaviness in throat (as low as it could have been neglected). Although I started gargling and steam inhalation as soon as may contact tested positive. Same day I went for Rapid Antigen test and it tested negative. I remained fine without any major symptoms upto 1-2 days of contact. Later, that evening I felt slight fatigue, headache and fever after approximately 2-4 days of contact and I got test myself with COVID and tested positive that on 12th August 2020. After following below mentioned tips, I am now again COVID negative, tested on 24th August 2020.

Although the below mentioned things are what I followed, but you need to consult your doctor understanding your scenario, based on age, immunity, co-morbidities, severity etc.

So Let come back to point,

1)     How to identify your symptoms

2)     What medication I was advised

3)     What home remedies I followed

4)     What Kind of food is advised

5)     How did I manage daily needs

1)     How to identify your symptoms

The symptoms start with mild throat itching/ heaviness, followed by fever (mild to high) depending on severity, headache, bodyache, fatigue, loss of appetite, sneezing, vomiting, loss of taste and smell, shortness of breath.

2)     What medication I was advised

In allopathic, I was prescribed only Tab. Vitamin C -500mg twice a day, Tab Zincona – Once a day , Tab Paracetamol – SOS.

Other than that AYUSH governed clinics provide some medication that can be availed from government hospitals, that contains ayurvedic tablet as swaswari Vati – 2 tab before food, twice a day, and other medication.

In Homeopathic medication, We have Arsenicum album (30 CH), that is taken for flu prophylaxis, can be taken on recommended from homeopathic doctors, and taken as 5 drops thrice a day for 3 days.

I myself had purchased Patanjali Coronil kit, containing Coronil Tablet (2 tablet after meals, twice a day), swaswari Vati  (2 tab before food, twice a day), third was Annu tel. Although the safety and efficacy of these tablets remained under scanner, but I followed this for 2-3 days. Took Vitamin C and Zincona regularly.

3)     Home remedies

Steam inhalation 2-3 times a day and gargling with salted water is extremely important.

Tea- with laung, kalimirch, adrak, dalchini, haldi also helps in reliving the symptoms. (Avoid too much) You may try different kada recipes available.

4)     What Kind of food is advised

Light, easily digestible food , with high nutritional value is advised. Fruits, green vegetables are good options.  All cold item should be avoided e.g Curd, buttermilk, ice-creams etc. Have freshly prepared, hygienic meals three times a day. Avoid heavy meals in night. Avoid Chana Dal, Chole, rajma in night (not easily digestible). Prefer coconut water and Mosumbi Juice.

5)     How did we manage daily needs

These days all services regarding daily needs like milk, vegetables, grocery, medicines are available on online delivery platform. Although You need to pay slightly higher price or only delivery charges, these services can easily be availed. Also swiggy is providing a pick and drop services for your essentials, you may check on that.

6)     What precautions should be taken once Infected

As a responsible citizen, you need to ensure that you do not transmit it to others.

I)                   Maintain your own hygiene

II)                 Don’t go out and stay home in self isolation

III)              Inform all your near and dear ones of your health status, as they can take care of themselves as well as yours

IV)              Try to contact each person you contacted in last few days and aware them about your health status and suggest them to get tested if they present any symptoms

V)                Testing is free at your nearest government dispensary, inform to your connections, majorly, maid, drivers, house helps etc.

VI)              Help government personnel’s in contact tracing.

Additionally,  The most important is positive attitude to be negative.

I will suggest to utilize your quarantine time for any creative activity you like, or learn something new.

Hope this helps you, or your loved ones. Thanks for sharing.
